Cristiano Ronaldo

Born on 5 February 1985 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, today Cristiano Ronaldo has become a household name. Not many people know that he conquered racing heart to become one of the top-rated football players today.
Here, we look at his playing carrier.

Early days:
Ronaldo had a great interest in football since the days of childhood. His father used to work as a kit man in a team 'Andorinha'. He started playing amateur football from 1992 to 1995. At the age of 12, he joined Sporting Lisbon for a fee of £1500. At the age of 14, he was found to have a racing heart, a condition in which heart seems to be racing. He went to multiple surgeries to treat it. Ronaldo made it to the youth team of Sporting Lisbon at the age of 16. He went on to play for U-16, U-17, U-18, B team, and A team in a single season becoming the first player to do so in the club history.


Manchester United Days:
Ronaldo spent 6 years in Manchester United from 2003-2009.
He was the most expensive teenager in English football when he signed for £12.24 million. He got to number 7 jersey, which was previously worn by the club greats such as George Best, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham.

In his years at Manchester United, he went on to be nominated for the top three for Ballon d'Or in the year 2007, being runner-up to Kaka and Messi.

Ronaldo scored 42 goals in all competitions in the year 2007-2008 season. In 2008-2009, he leads Manchester United to Champions League glory. He also went on to win the FIFA Puskás Award, given to the best goal of the year for his 40-yard goal against Porto.


Real Madrid Days:
Before 2009–10 season, Ronaldo joined Real Madrid for £80million, which was then a world record transfer fee. His presentation was attended by 80,000 fans in the Santiago Bernabéu. He had to wear number 9 jersey as number 7 was being worn by club legend Raul.

In the second season, Raul departed and Ronaldo was given his favored number 7 and went on to win Ballon d'Or.
In the year 2011, Ronaldo scored 42 goals in all competitions in a single season.
In his 9 years at Real Madrid, he went on to become the highest goal scorer for the club scoring 451 goals in 438 and winning four Ballon d'Or.
With his support, Real managed to win 2 Laligas and 4 Champions League.

Juventus Days:
At age 33, citing a new challenge required, Ronaldo decided to move to Juventus at a €100 million transfer fee in 2018. In 53 appearances for the club, he has scored 42 goals
