Book review: China Harayeko Manche

An autobiography by the most popular celebrity Nepal has ever speculated, ‘China harayeko manche’ is more of a memoir of Hari Bansha Acharya. He is a Nepal comedian, actor, singer, writer, and philanthropist. The heroic comedian is a popular duo alongside Madankrishna Shrestha commonly named ''MaHa Jodi''. This book title holds attraction as losing Cheena is considered bad luck as Cheena is believed to guide destiny, revealing strengths, weakness, behaviors, and problematic years. Having this important document of life in a thrilling incident, how did he survive without an astrologer's influence on his life serves as an important question for him. This book is all about social malpractices, their effect on even a common man, surviving without parents, man responsibility on family struggles behind the camera, comedy, and ups and downs of life. The author depicts it as a tribute to his beloved wife Meera Acharya.

A sneak peeks at an artist’s life is filled with expanding and contracting series of extremes. Although they made people laugh, these people are still a box of emotions. Just like the saying, ‘’A happy person has sorrow they want to conceal from appearance’’, he shares his sorrows with more than half. An artist's job is probably an underpaid and overexploited job when it comes to Nepal. They have to shift their role from management and negotiations ignoring their actual field potential. ‘China harayeko manche’  presents the emerging talent that struggled for righteous work. If we fragment the lifecycle as childhood, teenage, adult, and a middle-aged man. He expresses his disappointment and disapproval on mismatched married, child marriage, polygamy, gender preferences, the non-consensual decision for marriage, and widow marriage intolerance. As a teenager, he struggles with his passion turning into a profession. He encounters financial and emotional adversities with a strong determination to turning passion into a profession. We can imagine how the condition would have been if the condition is like his even after decades in the movie industry. He also beautifully satires how the shortages in his childhood instead of being progressive are regressing society. For example, gender preferences in the older generation had no choice but now people are doing ultrasound and amniocentesis to find gender and abort if it is a girl. This teleserial maker has suffered for being a pioneer in practicing dramas and producing serials. He has seen producers, actors, filmmakers, singers, and many people from this art fraternity losing their property. He also points out our wrong habit of being insensitive towards celebrities' personal crisis as our right to harass them in any situation they are stuck in.

One of the mention-worthy acts in his autobiography is how he credits his inspirational characters from real life. Haribansha Acharya stubbornly faced these situations with humidity which probably became the reason that made him this great. As it is said that one can stay away from politics but politics always revolve around them, he has raised his voice for citizens by improving political literacy. However, he has himself seen many forms of government systems and is not satisfied with work effectiveness diversion from their major ideology. Fortunately or unfortunately, an artist tends to hide inner conflicts and painful stories because they are bound by responsibility. The author has strong optimism for the new generation flourishing art nationally and internationally. His life despite being extraordinary, he chose to live a simple life dedicated to service on craft and social services.
